Day of Hope was an event designed by consumer action originated peers in 2002. We believed then as we do now that mental health client spend too much time in clinical setting talking bout symptoms and harm reduction. We took it to our community and asked them to witness recovery from a community center. First two event were held at The Historic State Theatre in downtown Modesto. We now are proud to report we have our own venue business collaborative ModSpot where this years event was held. 160 in attendance to end stigma and bring people out: yes I am in recovery and I’m proud. Each Mind Matters and Stanislaus County funded this years event.
